veigus Spider. Nice. Yellow is also cool. I even nearly added it to what I wrote but left it as just ‘red’. I think some cars (Ferraris, Alfas, old Lambos) look really good in yellow. Of course, newer Lambos must be orange, lime green, or purple (or black if you have a small penis)!
We’re the same height. It took me a couple of weeks to perfect the combination of seat height and steering wheel position so that I was completely comfortable on long drives and could see pretty much everything without needing to move my head. The tacho fills the centre of the console so isn’t an issue. The turn indicator lights are blocked by the top of the wheel and some multi-lane right turns (we drive on the left) the radius is not tight enough for the blinker to be automatically turned off.
It’s cool having a different car from everyone else. I’ve had mine 4 months and haven’t seen another one on the road. Strangers regularly ask me about it. I’ve always liked Lotuses and Porsches but every wanker (over here) has a 911. I nearly bought a second-hand Exige a couple of years ago but it wouldn’t be practical enough for all my needs. I did seriously consider a Boxster/Cayman but again, I really wanted back seats even if probably no adult will ever sit in them.
Incidentally, if you’re serious about a Porsche, the 987 is basically the same engine, drivetrain & running gear as the much more expensive (over-priced) 997, just de-tuned (and maybe a slightly different intake plenum?). Not sure if that applies to the current series.
