She is also an anti-vaccine lunatic which to me a is a big turnoff but yeah, could be good!
Damn, that's really too bad
Shit! I didn't notice that part. I must have had my mind elsewhere 😛
I hate it though when anti-vaxers associate themselves whith being anti-circ because it makes us look bad. The two positions are at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of science. Pro-circumcision types are the ones relying on pseudo science and logically they're the ones who should be anti-vax.
You should watch "Shots in the Dark" and see why many people are deciding not to inject things such as chicken fetus liver cells and mercury, aluminum and other known neurotoxins into their fragile children's bodies. But I agree, vaccines and genital mutilation are totally different subjects and should not be mixed. That said, I will say this: just like the circumcision industry, the vaccine industry has done a good job at marketing their product and has done some very shady things to boost their sales, such as biasing studies in their favor (Merck was recently caught doing this). The documentary was very sobering.
It threatens many people's sense of wellbeing to question vaccines, because it is such a huge part of our culture and people don't like to admit that they could be wrong about those sorts of things (another parallel to genital mutilation in America, I suppose...).
I am good friends with Hollie (The Foreskin Babe) and she is no "lunatic". I was pro-vax my whole life but have begun questioning vaccines because of new information that is impossible for me to ignore. It is certainly not a black and white issue like genital mutilation is (cutting a baby's penis is 100% wrong), but to cast off all anti-vaxers as "crazy" is just plain ignorant.
