Bonemail666 Curious why this website (and others) have this stage where you are asked to click a link if you don't want to wait any longer. Shouldn't the default assumption be that people do not want to wait any longer? What am I missing, guys?
phillytugger ????? I''m not getting that. Sounds like you're mistaking a pop up from one of the download sites as coming from here or you've got a virus - not necessarily a virus on your whole system but a pain in the ass one in your browser. I'd start by downloading a different browser. Then back up your bookmarks and reinstall your old browser if you still prefer it.
Admin This is a common feature on message boards, here is a pretty good explanation from another board: The “Click here if you don’t want to wait any longer” does not do the same thing as the stop button. That link is offered so that if your browser does not support the auto-redirect you can manually click on the link. It is also useful if the auto-redirect request is stuck or hangs, that way when you click it manually it re-initiates it. What happens when you click that link is that it re-initiates a call to the result page (it’s more like a refresh button). So, consider the following scenario: You have a slow connection. The time it takes for the results page to appear is 30 secs. At 20 secs you get impatient and click the link manually. This re-initializes a request to the results page, so your timer goes back to 0 secs… so you have to wait another 30 secs before you see a results page.
