The strange thing about it though is that it's possibly the censorship that drives Japanese porn to be the way that it is, dirty on par with German porn.

I'd say it also has a lot to do with how emotionally repressed both societies tend to be. They're both very strict in terms of what is 'correct' and what is not - and I think the porn from both places is like a release valve of sorts.

Japan seems interesting in this case. In South Korea, circumcision became popular because Americans brought it over during and after the Korean War. In Japan, despite being occupied by America as well, this didn't happen. Odd. But... from what I've in the tiny amount of uncensored Japanese porn, the foreskin is always pulled back immediately and never heard of or played with. But when it's specialized and focal point, they go all out. Also some hentai comics with phimosis humiliation, specifically.
