Here’s a clip I found from a recent production of the play Dance Nation by Clare Barron. The play is coming of age story about a competitive dance team of seven middle schoolers (six girls and one boy), all played by adult actors.
The play features several scenes where the girls naively discuss sex in the locker room, including a scene where the girls try to find out if the one boy on the team is circumcised and discuss whether or not they’ll get their future sons circumcised.
I’ve been familiar with this play for a while, not because of this scene, but just because it was very well received play (it was a Pulitzer prize finalist last year), so I just kept on the lookout for a recording of it because I knew I wanted to see this scene.
