@[deleted], I hear you. Covid has definitely affected things but is far from the sole (or even main cause).
Covid certainly smashed the pro industry, same as with all performing arts in areas where there were lock-downs or restrictions on close contacts. Some of the people making the pro-am level of content that you see on the Pornhub Models site might be more concerned about how Covid health measures have affected their employment / income rather than whether they should make a new video that might earn them some beer money.
However, there are still plenty of videos being uploaded to Pornhub. The question is, how many mostly-nice videos of a mostly-nice girl doing a mostly-nice blowjob do I need? That goes double if her eyes are cropped out of frame.
I don't have any secret sites. I mainly use Pornhub plus Xhamster and Xvideos for amateur and pro-am content. I used to use Xtube, Yuvutu, Newbie Nudes, etc 10-15 years ago, before the rise of the 3 above.
FWIW, I think we're currently experiencing a generational change in the way content is distributed.
If you're not hankering to get back to jerking off, here are my thoughts on the causes of the changes, some of which have already been mentioned.
Covid / restrictions - Less income means less money for people to spend on porn. Content creators have to do something else since making more content won't earn them any more income in a saturated market.
Lawsuit against Pornhub - the removal of a huge amount of "unverified" truly amateur content (and the new restrictions on uploaders) turned off a fat hose of mostly ordinary content that, by its sheer volume, provided a good number of keep-for-later clips. Xhamster and Xvideos also took down a bunch of vids.
OnlyFans - I fucking hate it as you never know what you're paying for. Plus, I'm not 14 years old so I have zero interest in TikTok clips of someone drinking a slushie or doing a titty drop in their room or while waiting for a bus.
Nonetheless, a lot of girls and couples are moving to it as they can just upload whatever the hell they want and (in theory) the monthly subs just roll in. They might still use Pornhub but only like Reddit and upload a few 8 second teaser clips to try and drive subs to their OF.
- The sheer number of people who have jumped on the make-porn-at-home bandwagon in the last few years means that, even before Covid, the market was pretty saturated as there wasn't a matching increase in the demand for porn. Very few will find that they make enough money for it to be worth it - not many last longer than 12 months. Even fewer will make enough to earn a living.
Those that stick at it are attention whores (not a criticism) which is why there are so many non-nude selfies (photos and videos) shot on their phones. They used to upload these to Twitter and Insta for free but now they sell them via OF for $5-20 a month.
There's more but I don't want to write an essay. Not for free anyway...
