SMS Verification Sites?

Hello!

For registering on dating sites or Instagram, is there a means to get an SMS code without using your actual phone number?

I'd like to keep at least some details of my life anonymous online.

I have used a Google Voice number for this.

It doesn't protect you from spam, though, if the number gets acquired by someone unethical.

A good rule is, if "someone" you meet on a dating site wants you to jump to WhatsApp right away, it's a fake account run by a scammer.
