Stopping government funded circumcision in the USA through DOGE?

I just heard some news that DOGE is cleaning up now with all kinds of unnecessary funding and other wastes of money, also looking into Medicaid next and even created several X-accounts for different DOGE divisions where you can give them hints where money is wasted and what they should look into.

Wouldn’t that be a big chance now for intactivists to stop the Medicaid funding of circumcision? I hope something can be organised here and hopefully also Musk himself will find out, since he is most likely not circumcised himself and therefore will surely see it as unnecessary too.

If you care about health care as a human right, your energy should be devoted 100% to opposing any interference with Medicaid by DOGE. Musk’s efforts thus far have been reckless and cruel.

The Medicaid Project set out to do this years ago. It was a grassroots effort to go state-by-state, persuading legislatures and/or state Medicaid boards to remove routine circumcision from the list of reimbursable procedures.

It succeeded in numerous states. Here’s a [Login to see the link]. I don’t know why the project lost steam.

DOGE might not look at Medicaid the same way; it’s more concerned with runaway expenditures and inefficiencies.

However, with RFK in charge of HHS, things could change at that level. He’s opposed to medicine serving corporate interests instead of human needs. RIC fits that perfectly.

P.S. On the international front, DOGE did expose (and I assume, terminate) a $50 million grant to pay for adult circumcisions in Mozambique. That’s a plus, politically, anytime you can credibly call circumcision a “waste.”

It was[Login to see the link], but you can be forgiven for wildly overestimating the amount since DOGE has been [Login to see the link]. In countries still ravaged by AIDS, male circumcision has been found to prevent transmission by 60%.

That’s not an argument for circumcision in North America, where we have ready access to condoms and AIDS is under control.

Bonemail666 The circumcision reducing incidences by 60% is total bullshit as those studies only looked at poor areas that received both circumcision and holistic sexual health aid such as std testing and condoms and genital hygiene awareness programs and kits and not the parts of africa that received only circumcision programs. This is further evidence by even theWHO themselves stating that circumcision is incapable of actually stopping std transmission on its own and needs to be sired with other programs to have any actual effect but then the question begs that how do we know that circumcision isn’t hijacking the efforts and EFFECTS of the paired health initiative in the first place.

How do people still believe that circumcision prevents HIV?!

It may help marginally, since the foreskin is more likely to tear and have an open wound than the shaft or head. But sex will not transfer AIDS unless there is blood / open wound involved.

It’s way down the list though after using condoms, lube especially for anal, not raping, etc.

If your sex practices are poor your chances of getting AIDS in an environment where it’s endemic are still high even if you’re cut.

bjhjcfnm it doesn’t even help marginally tho as although we are more likely to tear our foreskin because we still have a foreskin, not only is that like saying you’re more likely to crack your teeth if you still have teeth, but circumcised men are more likely to develop penile abrasions and scarring if the inner epithelial mucosa aka inner foreskin, remember the inner shaft skin of a circumcised penis is the same as our inner foreskin if only more keratinised but also thinner and more tightly stretched, so it not only balances out but they are also made out of the same stuff that our foreskins are hence they’re just replacing one problem with another. Anyone cut dude who denies that should be challenged to directly masturbate their dry glans without lube and do the same with their inner foreskin, not grab the outer foreskin and stretch it upwards.

If it did, it would have already shown up in populations that circumcise vs. those that don’t.
