Honestly, I think it would be weirder in the case of The Boys if they made a point of it not being a thing anymore. The setting is āour current world, but with superheroesā not āour world, but with superheroes and without circumcision.ā Being set in contemporary USA, it doesnāt feel out of place being there.
There was an interview I read with some of the props & VFX team members about āLove Sausageā (the guy in The Boys whose penis is meters long and prehensile) and they talked about the discussion behind-the-scenes about whether or not that character should be circumcised. For him they decided to leave him uncut, but didnāt elaborate on why other than āit felt rightā for that character.
The production makes a lot of practical penis props & sets, so the people doing the manufacturing need to be briefed on what to build. Part of that, I assume, is being told e.g. whether or not their 5-foot tall erect penis prop needs to have foreskin. I wouldnāt be surprised if itās just easier to build circumcised props at that scale; thereās less material and itās simply less complex to manufacture.
