intact I have to agree. A sentiment that I’ve been trying to spread myself (and I’ve only seen a few others take my approach) is that we need to not only stigmatize circumcision, but circumcised penises THEMSELVES. Very specifically, women in particular need to start saying things like “circumcised penises are ugly and gross”, “uncut dicks look and feel better”, “I only date uncut guys”, “I would never date a circumcised guy”, etc. If women just started saying these things, then it would lead to circumcision rates dropping much, much quicker, since parents will go “What? Women think circumcised penises are ugly and gross? Well, I’m not giving my son an ugly, mutilated penis that women are gonna find gross. I want them to like his penis. Therefore, we won’t be circumcising him”
But whenever I throw this idea out there, people, even those who would benefit from this, feel the need to pushback, for some odd reason. Like, really? You’d rather protect the feelings of circumcised guys and keep circumcision around for longer, instead of just hurting a few worthless feelings and ending circumcision quicker? What the fuck is wrong with you? Who could ever think that’s the better option? It’s just annoying. Especially since it’s a perfectly logical, flawless idea that absolutely, 100%, without a doubt will work in at least lowering circumcision rates. I don’t know why people try to deny this obvious fact.
So, I propose that we (and especially women) go out of our way to make fun of circumcised penises, not that anyone’s gonna go along with it, even though it’s a really good idea. And to anyone who’s gonna say “B-b-but, some of them didn’t have a ch-ch-choice”. Shut up, idiot. They don’t give a shit that they didn’t have a choice. In fact, they’re proud of it. These people in particular are worth hurting the feelings of. In fact, they deserve it. Would you rather hurt the feelings of a few dozen people and protect potentially tens of million of babies from being circumcised, or protect the meaningless feelings of a few dozen people (who don’t even care about getting their feelings hurt) and let tens of millions of babies have their genitals horribly mutilated and disfigured? Exactly. My approach is the most reasonable one.
And don’t suggest other methods that rule out ridiculing anyone, they’ve all been tried and none of them have worked. So, let’s just all go along with my infallible plan. It will work. It’s the only one that will. I promise you. Please, just trust me on this. Give it a try and let’s see how it goes. Let’s not shut it down without even giving it a shot first. Just give it a chance. Please.
